Did you know that Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse is funny? He often walks around with his head down and a contemplative look on his face. Such is the life of a man trying to balance the budget of one of the state’s largest cities that also happens to have a per capita income of $18,590. Compare that to Bentonville’s slick $35k per person or Fayetteville’s $27k.
But when Mayor Sprouse raises his head and starts talking, it’s hard to not be disarmed by his sense of humor and earnestness. You’ll have the chance to meet with him in the second round in the city’s Conversation with the Mayor series set for Thursday, Sept. 21, at George Junior High from 9-10 a.m. He will be speaking at the Coordinated School Health meeting about community improvement projects, downtown revitalization and the upcoming bond election. The public is invited to attend the meeting, spend some time with the mayor and ask him about anything in Springdale that’s on their mind.
So come learn about the bond election, ask that burning question you’ve always had about drainage, and get in a good laugh with the mayor.
